In this chapter we will realize that the Multimedia City plan was going no where. Then Syed Jalaludin introduced Tengku Farith to Maznida Mokhtar, Mohd Reza Shafiee, Mohd Hisham Mohd Isa and Harjono Zainal Abidin from Alam Teknokrat. At that time, Tengku Farith,Azmi and Aimi has develop a company called ACIF. Later Maznida call Tengku Farith to discuss about Alta Vista project. They met at a Internet CafĂ© in Bangsar. Alam Teknokrat was represented by Ida, Reza and Sharifah Julina. Sharifah Julina is Ida’s sister-in-law and she is a lawyer. Tengku Farith and Azmi represented Acif Resources. To get this project Tengku Farith had to compete with SingTel, Singapore. By Disember 1996, Tengku Farith got the project. In order to complete this project he took loan from CIMB and Perwira Affin Bank.
Chapter 4 SKALI LAGI
In chapter 4, they launched a website -http//:altavista.skali.com. The name of SKALI was chosen because “skali” in Malay means “oneness” which is the fundamental philosophy of SKALI’s culture. Within three months of the launch, they realized that their business model was not working. The failure to generate traffic was partly their fault, partly AltaVista’s and partly the circumstances at the time. In 1997, they were facing serious financial problem. They were facing bankruptcy. By December 1997, they managed to get a much-needed infusion of cash from Japanese venture firm, Nomura Jafco. In May 1998, Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) gave a loan but not without strict conditions. The biggest problem they faced at the time was they couldn’t even pay their employees full salaries. At the same time, they were receiving letters of demands from the lawyers of their contributors. On October 23, they have the meeting and with that, the entire staff walked out on them. They started getting e-mails from anonymous addresses to demanded answers for what’s going on with the company. They worked on everything to make sure no sabotage could take place. After discussion with some ex-worker, they agreed for came back in this company. The deal was pay 30% of the salaries owed to them up front and the remainder would be paid in installments over the next four months. In all, including the directors, their staff strength grew back to 17 people.

for me human should be independent...
why dont we create a program like khidmat negara with a twist...
2 months without any type of technology at all..
teach them to search and cook their own meal,....
make their own communication tools...
do farming,etc..
i would like to involve in this kind of activites...good for dieting maa...heheheh....

MoNey,MoNeY, mOnEy!!!!

emmm...i often ask myself how much money does people NEED? why people never satisfy when it comes to money matter and what will happen if money system had never been introduced??

emmm... a world without money...better or worse?
the plus point(for me) will be..they will be less robbers...less criminal cases that involve money and the range between rich and poor will be less wider....on the second thought..people might exchange goods but there is no guarantee that the goods will be safe from thieves, right?
and i dont think that all the goods will have the same values...so there will be rich and poor people as well.. so money does plays a important role in making our life easier and sistematic..

what bothering me is how people let the money control them...why they always feel that their money is not enough although they have more than they really need.... i hope i'll never become one of them...for me, whether we are rich or not is not depend on how much money we have but how much we feel is enough for us... so give it a thought and please post to this blog if you want to share your opinion or wnt to comment anything..
